The inspiration for Abundancia comes from Helen Curtis. While visiting South America she was impressed by the knitting skills of the local women. Now, as a part time resident of Uruguay, she has gathered a group of Uruguayan women to help design and hand knit these creations. As a result, these women are able to earn a fair wage for their beautiful work.

Silvia S. is married and lives by the sea in a town named Jose Ignacio, Uruguay. She knits, sews, does quality control and manages the shipping. She has one son named Alex.

Maria de F. is married and lives in Montevideo, the capital city of Uruguay. She works on design and does quite a bit of the hand knitting. She has 2 children, Matias and Nicolas, who love to help wind the yarn.

Maria C. is a widow, who lives in the small town of San Carlos, Uruguay. She is in charge of all the hand loomed items and works with her three daughters, Romina, Sabrina and Piernina.
